Campaign Story
* Typical cost of capstone projects (including registrations, travel and supplies) is about $1200.
* I am trying to raise $600 as family and school will cover the rest.
Goals for My Fundraiser:
Supporting my capstone project
*** I plan to pursue the project though participation in TSA activities like competitions and community service. ***
The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) that helps students explore STEM through hands-on projects, competitions, and leadership opportunities.
What is ‘Harmonize for Humanity’
A project centered on creating an interactive video game that weaves innovative musical compositions with storytelling centered around humanitarian themes. The game will highlight social issues while showcasing unique musical scores.
Why I am pursuing this project (My why)
- I am a ‘Reflective Thinker’ personality type person with strong ‘advocate’ business potential.
- I’m super into making cool music-based video games because I’m awesome at composing game music and coding. I’m thinking about working on a project as an analyst or producer for games that help people, to really push the boundaries of art in game development..
My plan of action: Competitions and Activities
Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) to join:
Technology Student Association (TSA) – Offers hands-on competitions and opportunities in technology innovation and design, fostering essential skills in coding, project management, and teamwork, which directly support the student’s project and desired tasks.
Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) – Provides leadership training, business management competitions, and challenges that enhance skills in administration, delegation, time management, and following procedures—key areas for the student’s development.
Competitions
This introductory TSA competition fosters coding skills, problem-solving, and project management which are essential for the Harmonize for Humanity project.
FBLA – Business Ethics
This introductory FBLA competition builds fundamental ethical reasoning, report writing, and presentation skills that complement the social mission of Harmonize for Humanity.
This TSA competition, while introductory, challenges students to develop innovative design and prototype solutions, aligning with the advanced phase of the project and enhancing technical creativity.
This advanced FBLA competition allows the student to strategically plan and develop a comprehensive business model that can scale the Harmonize for Humanity initiative.
Community Service:
Community Technology Workshop
Why it fits: The workshop enables practical application of tech skills and business ethics while directly benefiting the local community in zip code 30319 by improving digital literacy.
Implementation: Plan and organize a series of workshops during the Spring semester with local tech experts, secure a community center venue, and promote the event through local channels.
Skills Development: Public speaking, event management, community engagement, leadership
